On This Day in Alamo History – February 28, 1836 Throughout the sixth day of the siege, the Alamo endures prolonged cannonade from Santa Anna’s forces. The Texans have yet to lose a man. One of the most well-known Texan defenders present during the siege is legendary frontiersman David Crockett.
