Free diver plunges to record depth under a frozen Lake Sils in southern Switzerland 40-year-old Czech free diver David Vencl wore only a small swimsuit and fins and dove down to the record depth of 52.1 meters (170.9 feet) which took him 1 minute 54 seconds. At the bottom of the dive, David had to retrieve a sticker from a depth of 50 metres to prove his feat before re-emerging. Vencl was eventually taken to the hospital after the stunt left him coughing up blood and with swollen lungs. Free div
